At a hearing on Jan. 25, 2006 Delegates Bates, Bohanan, and Eckardt question the members of the “Economic panel” about the economics of embryonic stem cell research funding by the State of Maryland.
Missouri veteran Stan Brown speaks out on stem cell research. Ret. Col. Brown injured his spinal cord while reporting for duty. Today, he peer-counsels other veterans with spinal injuries — and knows firsthand the hope provided by stem cell research. Researchers have discovered how to use embryonic stem cells to help mice recover from spinal cord injuries. Missouri’s Stem Cell Amendment guarantees that if it’s successful in humans, this treatment will be available in Missouri. Visit www.missouricures.com to learn how you can help protect stem cell research in the Show-Me State.

President Barack Obama fulfilled one of his campaign promises Monday by ending restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Most Americans support the research because it could lead to treatments and possibly even cures for a number of diseases. But the decision will not end a bitter dispute about the morality of such research.
Senator Shaheen expressed strong support for expanded embryonic stem cell research on March 12, 2009. Shaheen thanked President Obama for reversing the federal limitations imposed on stem cell research by the Bush Administration.
Mayor Pat mccrory's sister Linda Sebastian explains that her brother supports non-embryonic stem cell research (stem cell research where a human embryo is not destroyed). Pat mccrory's opponent, Bev Perdue, is running dishonest, negative TV ads using a victim of a terrible disease. Shameful. He cares about people. He anguished over his mother and father's long illnesses. As governor, Pat mccrory will do the right thing for North Carolina.
Leigh Heller of Maryland Right to Life analyzes the proposed law and shows that it mandates the killing of fetuses used in research. The bill does not prevent cloning only the birth of the clone! Hearings held on Jan. 25, 2006 Annapolis Maryland.
